Before the clock ever struck six, painters were lined up all around 6th and Main, Wilkesboro’s historic inn-turned-restaurant, anxiously awaiting their opportunity to sit down and start their masterpiece. It didn’t take long for the women to find their seats and, oh man, did they get right to it! Often, it can take people a few minutes to gain their confidence with a paintbrush and really turn loose, but I have to say that Wilkesboro really came out strong! We had 23 amazing women attend on Wednesday night, all first time painters with Paint Your Wings.
Although we always have a blast with our events, this one really left a great taste, and for reasons besides the fact the the food was TO DIE FOR (seriously, come and order the walnut encrusted deep fried goat cheese salad…you can thank me later)! All of our ladies did an incredible job of really making each painting unique and special to themselves. As everyone’s art began coming to life, it made me think back once again to why we decided to start a mobile paint studio.
First of all, it can’t be overstated how important Wade’s support has been, both with the business and personally. He helped ensure the confidence in me that we can make a difference in people’s lives by providing them with an evening to treat themselves and discover the artist within us all. With a mobile setting, Paint Your Wings is able to reach a broader audience of painters, and therefore make more of an impact to more people, and that’s the reason why we do these events.
Over the past few months, we have seen more and more ladies continue to come out and show their support for Paint Your Wings. This encourages us more and more to keep going and prove to others that they DESERVE to treat themselves, and what better way than to leave with a wonderful art piece that is completely their own.
6th and Main was wonderful, and we will no doubt be looking to partner in the future and create more events for our wonderful audience throughout the High Country. If you’ve attended one of our events before, we’d love to hear about your experience!
